Janmashtami, also known as Krishna Janmashtami, is one of the most celebrated Hindu festivals in India. The festival commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna, who is traditionally believed to have been born on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the dark fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada.
